Historic Hineston Website
We have started a Historic Hineston website where people who are searching
for Hineston this page will come up.    It is just being "born" - but I wanted to put the URL
out so you all can start following the progress.   It is going slow; but, it will get done.    Just
remember all the hot links are not working yet.  Any feedback would be welcomed.

Perkins Research
In a couple of months, I am meeting with a group of researchers.  We are studying several
different surnames and one of them is the Perkins surname.    There seems to be several
different lines of Perkins in our area and we are trying to see if there is any common
ancestors that might connect these different Perkins lines.   If you have any family history/
pictures / family group sheets, GEDCOM, etc., please send it to me.  You can do it either by
email:
CarolynDyessBales@yahoo.com or to my mailing address:

My phone number is: 318-792-8426.    Thanks!!!

Flip pal
A few years ago, I had written an article on a neat machine called - Flip-Pal.  It is a great
little machine to take to reunions, help with your scrapbookings, and other projects.    The
reason I am mentioning it is because a new feature has been added.   It can now be used
as wireless transfers with the wireless upgrade.    If you would love to share some of the
ways you have used this machine, I would be interested.  I have used it at a lot of reunions
and it works great!

Do you want to get started doing family research?
I have had a lot of people tell me they wish they knew how to start working on their tree,
inputting information into data bases, and know more about the DNA process.    If you are
wanting to get started with your tree, please let me know.  There are some of us getting
ready to put a "Beginning training" together.    It is a hobby that keeps giving and giving!
I started hard researching about 1995.  My only regret is that I didn't start earlier!

New book on the DNA process
This is the latest book on the DNA process and I have found it to be very good.
Here is what Amazon says about the book.  By the way - it is on sale right now and you
can save $10. 00 on the book.  I am not sure how long it will be on sale; but, well worth
the money.

RAPIDES PARISH SHERIFF'S  OFFICE

On September 29th , 2016, Deputies responded to a complainant that a vehicle had been broken into in the Union Hill area near Glenmora.  The victim stated there were credit cards and other items taken from the vehicle.  The incident was assigned to Detectives from the Glenmora Substation for further investigation.  During their investigation, Detectives discovered the credit cards were being used in the Alexandria area.  Detectives were then able to obtain video of the person using the cards and develop an initial suspect as Jason Darren Marler and a suspect vehicle of a burgundy/maroon Ford F150 with black wheels.  This information was disseminated through the RPSO Facebook page and numerous tips from the public were given.  In a short time, Detective’s located the suspect vehicle along with a subject identified as Matthew David Williams in the vehicle.  Detectives were also able to establish another suspect in the incident as Kevin Edward Harris of Pineville.  Detectives learned that Williams and Marler had allegedly broken into a residence in the Union Hill area just hours before Detectives located Williams.  It was also determined that the three had been involved in a burglary in the Pineville area around Lakeshore Dr. and that information was shared with the Pineville Police Department.  As of October 7th , 2016, all three suspects were arrested and have been booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where they remain on bond.
