A Lost Community Found in the Archives

At Cane River Creole National Historical Park in Louisiana, cultural resource specialist Dustin Fuqua discovered an entire “lost” community that was preserved in the park’s archives. Occupying more than 30 tenant quarters at Magnolia Plantation in the antebellum period through the 1960s, this community and the buildings they lived in have completely vanished today. Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office

Another scam has been brought to our attention today. We will call this one the “fake advertisement scam”.
According to the potential victim, they signed up on Craigslist to have a vehicle wrap done on their personal vehicle. The wrap would be advertising a certain product, in this instance a very reputable company Casio of the G-Shock watch fame. The person running the scam tells the potential victim that they will make $500 a week to just ride around with this wrap advertising for Casio. In checking with Casio, this is not an advertising opportunity that they use or endorse.
Of course, the scam always ends with where they send the potential victim a check and the potential victim is supposed to deposit the check and send them a processing fee back. Of course that is where the victim loses their money.
As we always say, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Making $500 a week to drive around with a product advertisement on your vehicle sounds pretty good. But anytime someone wants you to deposit money from them and then you send money back to them, it is a scam. No matter what it is. Always be vigilant and refuse to be a victim!
